Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. Growing up, she listened to lots of traditional music as well as traditional Boleros. Also, she listened to the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana is a fan of tangos, as well as opera and dramatic performances. After singing with her mom at the age of 12, she took up more rigorous training in singing at 16 under the tutelage of renown Mexican tenor FlavioBecerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. She performed throughout Guadalajara, Mexico City and various cities while a scholar and professional. In 2000, she relocated into the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she settled in her new home in Southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist with the traditional Latin American music at private occasions. The love she has for singing, music and the arts keep her engaged in local projects in both her capacity as an artist and educator. Ana is a previous part of the Community Chorus of Redlands (as as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana hopes that by sharing her knowledge songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she will bring about a desire, specifically among the younger generation in keeping the music in the present.
